The Global Unified Two-dimensional Code Issuing Agency UTC was Formally Established

Recently, ZIIOT （Zhongguancun Industry& Information Research Institute of Two-dimensional code technology hasbeen authorized by the three international organizations ISO( InternationalStandards Organization), CEN (The European Committee for Standardization) , AIMGlobal (Global Advancing Identification Matters ), to be an international codeissuer, the issuing agency code (IAC) is“MA”, which is first used to issue unique and traceable two-dimensionalcode to users worldwide.

 

The IDcode system, which was independentlyresearched and developed by ZIIOT, with its scientific coding structure, theuniversality and interoperability of its application, has been unanimouslyrecognized by ISO, CEN and AIM Global, to be a part of the internationalstandards of ISO/IEC 15459.

The ISO/IEC 15459 is a series of standardfor the Information technology-Automatic identification and data capturetechniques-Unique identification, and the widely used commodity bar code(one-dimensional bar code) is also in this series.

 

In order to better provide globally unifiedtwo-dimensional code issuance and registration management services, to ensurethe uniqueness and traceability of its issued code, with the support ofrelevant Chinese government departments, ZIIOT initiated the establishment ofUTC, the global unified two-dimensional code registration  management center, to carry out internationalcode distribution services, responsible for writing internationaltwo-dimensional code standards files, and establish global certification andaccreditation system .

 

The mission of UTC is to research anddevelop a scientific two-dimensional identification system, establish an interoperableand shared public service platform for two-dimensional code registration andmanagement, so that the entire industrial development of two-dimensional codewill enter the stage of standardization and interoperability, and enabletwo-dimensional code technology to play an important role in global tradefacilitation, industrial value chain reconstruction and the digital economy development.
